Complete Restringing

Many different things can make restringing desirable.

  1. Old Dull sounding bass strings  - Dirt and corrosion can stop the strings from vibrating properly
  2. String Breakage problems (If a piano experiences even a small amount of ongoing string breakage problems, this is an indication that restringing is needed.
  3. Loose Tuning Pins - When tuning pins are loose and the piano cannot be tuned then restringing with a new pinblock is needed.
  4. Any piano over 20 years old is a candidate for restringing.

New Strings improve a grand piano in many ways. They look beautiful. They sound alive , warm and rich.  Full bass tone is restored.  Once stabilized (after several tunings) they tune clearer and stay in tune longer.

Restringing work includes a new pinblock, plate finishing and detailing. analysis of and attention to the bridge and soundboard needs.
